Sidney Howard

According to the Editorial notes with part 3, “Sidney Howard is one of the most remarkable members of my crew. He was many things in his life before he became a journalist, and then, tiring of journalism, took to the sea, ultimately making the Thames to Tahiti trip of over 12,000 miles in his 38-ft yacht, an achievement that will go down in history.” Howard wrote a book about his adventure, Thames to Tahiti, which was published in 1933, and subsequently re-issued in 1951.
